Diane Moon

diane.jpgDiane joined the Practice on 1st February 2012 as Practice Manager.    Diane has worked for the NHS for over 20 years in a variety of roles at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Walton Hospital and Wirral University Teaching Hospital.  She has spent the last 6 years working with the Primary Care Trust, NHS Wirral, as a Business/Operations Manager.

The role of Practice Manager  is responsible for the overall efficient and effective running of the Practice. Diane is keen to engage with patients, so in addition to hosting a Patients Forum group monthly, she adopts very much an open door policy towards patients feedback .

IT/Business support

fionaOur practice has 35 computers and we are responsible for the day to day running of all computer systems by maintaining all software, hardware and upgrading to new systems when necessary.

We are also responsible for looking after the practice finances including banking, bill paying, petty cash, credit control, review of practice budgets and reconciliation of accounts. We operate the monthly payroll with payments to all GPs, staff, locums and registrars.

Medicines Manager

lizWorking under the guidance of our GPs, together with coaching from our NHS Wirral locality pharmacist and working within defined protocols, Liz’s role is to ensure our repeat prescribing process works well.

Our aim is to deal with routine repeat medication requests  from patients efficiently, effectively and most importantly safely. We also have good working relationships with local pharmacists to enable any queries regarding any patient medication to be resolved quickly.

Admin Team

admin2The admin team deal with all incoming mail, registering of new patients and entering medical history onto notes, removal of patients no longer in our catchment area, medical reports/insurance claims.

We process all labs results, smears & xrays as they arrive into the surgery on daily basis and pass on information to the patients once the doctor has actioned them.  Our phone line is open from midday to 3pm Monday to Friday.

We are experienced medical secretaries who have now seen our roles grow over recent years in a way that means that we now not only continue to provide secretarial support for the whole practice team, but also provide experience based help and advice to patients once they have been referred by their GP to a consultant as part of the "Choose and Book" approach.

Our reception team are specially trained to help and assist you in making routine and emergency appointments. They can also answer your various requests and queries.  When telephoning they may ask a few details. The doctors ask the reception staff to make these enquiries so that they can help our patients in the most appropriate way. All the staff have undertaken special training and are bound by the same strict rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.
